EIS students scored high in the World Maths Day

This year, Excelsior International School (EIS) participated for the first time in the World Maths Day Competition held on the 1st March 2011. The game helps the student to increase the analytical skills, speed, consistency and accuracy through fun learning. A total of 82 students from Grades 1 to 8 participated in the event. Grade 4A has the highest participation rate at 95%.

On the 23rd March 2011, Wednesday, the CEO, Mr Andrew Smith and the Regional Manager for Singapore, Mr David Liu of 3P Learning Australia Pty Ltd came to EIS to present the platinum awards to our top scorers.

EIS students Zhuang Ke, Jahan Mahpara, Muhammad Ahmad Khan, Muhammad Nahin Khan, and Richard Dharmamulya received the Platinum Awards Certificate from Mr Andrew Smith, CEO of 3P Learning Australia Pty Ltd.

The top scorer from our school was Muhammed Nahin KHAN from Grade 7A.  He achieved a total of 3851 points out of 100 games (he took only 1.5 seconds to answer each question!). He was just 350 points away from the world top 100 ranking (the 100th ranking is 4200 points for this year) with the accuracy of 96.3%. Nahin received a medal from the CEO, Mr Andrew Smith for achieving this excellent result.

Henry Lucius Thomaz from Grade 1B achieved 432 points out of 30 games with 93% accuracy; he took just 4 seconds to answer each question.

Congratulations to Nahin and all students who participated in this online event.  Well done and we look forward to the the World Maths Day in 2012.
