Dear Parents and Guardians,
In face of the H1N1 situation, we seek your assistance in taking simple steps to ensure a safe and healthy learning environment for all at EIS. All students must have their temperature taken before coming to school. If your child displays flu like symptoms such as elevated temperature (38C), cold symptoms (sore throat, cough, headache), vomiting &/or diarrhea, general tiredness and lethargy, he/she should remain at home and you should consider consulting a doctor.
If you suspect that any member of your family may have been exposed to influenza A (H1N1) or if you have confirmation of exposure, it is imperative to follow the MOH recommendations and inform us at EIS (6536 6566).
If a Student is sent to the nurse's because he/she is unwell and he/she has a temperature of 37.5C or above, the parent will be contacted and asked to collect the student from EIS.
The school will continue to ensure that the classrooms and surrounding environments are cleaned regularly. The children are being reminded to wash their hands with soap frequently and to cover their mouth when they cough. We will show students and staff a video provided by MOH to highlight important steps to stay healthy.
At this time, the operations of the school and day to day and school activities, including after school activities will run as usual. Meanwhile I invite you to consult our school response chart which indicates the steps we are taking to keep our students safe. The chart will also be posted on our website.
We will keep you informed of any further developments using our SMS system and via e-mails. In order to do this, please ensure that we have on record the accurate phone number(s) and e-mail addresses needed to contact you.
Thank you for your continued support.
