Our school name may have changed; however, our ultimate objective remains the same: To be the premier provider of high quality care and education to the international community by offering its pupils a Pre-School through Grade 12 programme of education. We are a caring community where students' needs are a priority and where traditional Singaporean and Western educational values are respected and encouraged to coexist. EIS is a university preparatory school aiming to provide a challenging academic environment emphasizing learning, as well as social and personal growth. The development of the school, during the past few years, has been significant. The future will build on the firm foundations which have been established and on the quality of school life, especially for the benefit of our students, Gaining success in this new academic year means that the whole school community; students, parents, teachers, and other school staff members; must all work together. We strongly believe in the importance of teachers, parents, and administrators collaborating and communicating openly and frequently. We will continue improve the quality of tools of communication, including giving our parents access to an interactive website where they will be able to retrieve pertinent information regarding their children's academic achievement. Currently Excelsior International School is an IB authorised School for the Diploma Programme. EIS is a Cambridge International Examination Board Centre (CIE) and a regular member of Council of International Schools (CIS). You are encouraged to regularly check our website and read about our exciting academic and co-curricular activities. We are always pleased when parents select our enterprise to provide their children with a quality education. We look forward to serving you and your children over the coming years. Acquiring knowledge, useful skills, understanding, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities are some of the goals we have set ourselves to meet with each and every student attending our school. The administration and staff believe that every student is unique and special and that they all have the ability to learn. We believe it is our responsibility as educators, to nurture and develop every student to their maximum potential. Students are continually encouraged to appreciate diversity and to care for others by becoming global citizens and developing a concern and active respect for the environment.
At Excelsior, the educational community strives for excellence by preparing students for learning beyond the their school years and assisting them to become lifelong learners, as well as helping them to be self-directed, realistic, and responsible decision makers when solving problems that they will encounter in our multicultural, ever-changing world. Ultimately, students, individually, will gain from their life at school according to the effort they apply.
During the 2010-11 academic year, EIS will move from being a Candidate School to an Authorised School for the IB Primary Years Programme (IBPYP). Our school will also continue the process of obtaining full accreditation programme with the Council of International Schools and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. This will further our credibility and accountability. Ultimately our students will be given the opportunity to graduate with IGCSE, a High School Diploma, or the IB Diploma for those who select this path.
